What flowers does Carleston Blooms grow?
Carleston Blooms specialises in British cottage flowers. Some returning favourites of mine include dahlias, cosmos, scabious, cornflowers, heleniums and sweetpeas. Each year is slightly different, though, so if you are looking for something in particular then just let me know!
Why have my flowers arrived in newspaper/old produce wrappers?
When in transit, I wrap my flowers up for protection. However, since I know these wrappings will only be thrown away, I tend to use materials such as old newspapers or empty produce bags. It's much more sustainable, and it gives a second purpose to single use plastic.
How should I care for my bouquet to make it last longer?
Some of my top tips for bouquet care are:​

Once you get home with your bouquet, get it into water ASAP.

Use a suitably sized vase (if one is not supplied). It should ideally be a third of the height of the stems.

Prepare the base by adding water and the plant food provided.

Cut at least a centimetre off the base of the stem at an angle before placing in the vase.

Place your vase arrangement in a cool place in your house away from direct sunlight and draughts.

Remember to top up your vase with fresh water at least every second day.
How should I care for my dried flower bouquet?
To care for your dried flowers, remember:

Keep them somewhere calm with little movement and consistent cooler temperatures; they don't like direct sunlight or draughts.

Do not put water in their vase or keep them somewhere humid as they don't like moisture.

Avoid touching, as this will make them fall apart quicker.
